Welcome to the PhD course "Potentials and Challenges of Circular Economy as Sustainability Strategy"

The course takes place 28-30 November 2018 at Aalborg University’s campus in Copenhagen at A.C. Meyers Vænge 15, 2450 Copenhagen SV in the South Harbour part of Copenhagen.

The program of the PhD course runs on 28 Nov from 10-16 and on 29 and 30 Nov from 9-16.

The course introduces potentials and challenges to circular economy from a business perspective and from an urban perspective.  In terms of theoretical approaches, the course integrates theories about product chains and value chains, social practices, user-oriented innovation and governance.

Literature for the PhD course

You will find the literature, which we would like you to read before the course, in a folder on the website of the course https://phd.moodle.aau.dk/course/view.php?id=1005#section-0 . It is in total seven texts:

Participants’ tasks before, during and after the PhD course

We kindly ask all of you to send us at msjo@plan.aau.dk and ar@plan.aau.dk a 1-2 page description of the research you are conducting in relation to circular economy latest 19^th November 2018. This will give us insight into the research of the participants. We will also make these available to the participants.

During the PhD course all participants should give a 5-10 minutes oral presentation of their research related to the circular economy field, for example introducing some of the theories and methods you apply or some of the experiences and results you have obtained.

After the PhD course the participants should with the deadline 17 December 2018 submit 6-8 pages reflecting the texts read for the course, the discussions at the course about your own research and your reflections after the course about your research questions, research methodology, and your researcher role. You will get feedback to the assignment by 31 January 2019.
