Introduction: Workshop with an emphasis on you thriving during your PhD
The workshop focuses on wellbeing, community, and psychological safety in the PhD environment, with the aim of reducing loneliness and offering practical tools for navigating workload, pressure, and expectations during the PhD journey.
It combines presentations with guided reflection and group dialogue and explores how academic culture can shape the way pressure is experienced and handled.
The session also addresses impostor feelings and their effects on confidence and performance, introduces a simple understanding of stress physiology and early warning signs, and works with both individual and collective coping strategies.
Throughout, the workshop highlights the role of community in sustaining wellbeing and provides concrete ways to strengthen supportive connections in everyday academic life.
Following the workshop you will have the opportunity to parttake in group sessions (date to follow) with other PhD students from the workshop.
The workshop is open for PhD students at the Faculty of Engineering and Science and PhD students at the Faculty of Medicine - at all stages of the PhD
It is organized by Associate Professor Tanja Kirkegaard who has great experience in this area.
When: April 21, 2026 09:00 12:00
Where: AAU Innovate - room to follow
Any questions or considerations please contact Kristian Østergaard at AAU PhD krs@adm.aau.dk, 99403512
