Welcome to Membrane technology for circular economy
Description:
This PhD course explores the critical role of membrane technology in advancing the principles of circular economy. Membrane processes have gained prominence in various industries due to their ability to facilitate separation, purification, and concentration of materials. This course will delve into the applications of membrane technology across different sectors and how it contributes to resource efficiency, waste reduction, and sustainable practices. Students will engage with theoretical concepts, practical applications, case studies, and emerging trends to develop a comprehensive understanding of the nexus between membrane technology and circular economy.
The course will introduce the students to the latest developments and prospects of membrane technology for the circular economy. The topics are:
1. Development of green membranes
2. Prospects and challenges of membranes for biorefining applications
3. Minerals harvesting
4. Energy applications
The topics includes lectures about membrane application and synthesis and the PhD students will gain insight in both the technical challenges and the feasibility of these processes.
The course consists of both lectures, assignments, workshops, and a study visit.

Important information concerning PhD courses: We have over some time experienced problems with no-show for both project and general courses. It has now reached a point where we are forced to take action. Therefore, the Doctoral School has decided to introduce a no-show fee of DKK 3000 for each course where the student does not show up. Cancellations are accepted no later than 2 weeks before start of the course. Registered illness is of course an acceptable reason for not showing up on those days. Furthermore, all courses open for registration approximately four months before start. This can hopefully also provide new students a chance to register for courses during the year. We look forward to your registrations.
