Welcome to From Development to Dissemination – resource efficiency and raw materials in a local and regional context

Description: The “Europe 2020” strategy has set the objective of sustainable growth seeking to promote a more resource efficient, greener and more competitive economy while boosting sustainable growth at regional and local level.

The PhD course focuses on “designing out waste” in products and services taking into account local and regional development. The course stands for itself, but there is partly overlap with the course “Design for Sustainability” (DfS). Where the course DfS deals with sustainable product/service design, this course incorporates implementation of new products and services in local and regional economies.

The course aims at PhD-students who expect their research to be (fully or partly) dealing with the circular economy, cradle-2-cradle, governance, and implementation of sustainable solutions in society.

Students have to send an (case) example from their PhD-project two weeks prior to the course to Carla Smink (carla@plan.aau.dk).

The case example has to include the following:
• Short description of the case
• Is your case about a product or a service?
• How does your case contribute to local or regional development?

The course is conducted as a combination of lectures 3 days (24 hours) and an assignment. The participants will present the results of assignments.
