Welcome to Membrane Technology For Circularity In Industrial Processes

Description: This PhD course explores the role of membrane technology in advancing circularity within industrial processes. Participants will gain a deep understanding of how membranes can be applied for water and wastewater treatment, resource recovery and energy efficiency. Through lectures, case studies, and hands-on sessions, the course highlights innovative membrane-based solutions that support sustainable production and minimize environmental impact. Emphasis is placed on real-world applications across sectors such as the steel industry, pulp and paper industry, chemical manufacturing, and battery recycling. 

The course will consist of lectures, group exercises, presentation and discussion of the participants’ own projects as well as networking.  

Learning outcomes: 

• Basic understanding and overview of various membrane processes
• Process integration
• Recovery of resources (water, energy and solutes)
• Assessment of circularity in industrial processes
• Control and monitoring of membrane processes
• Fouling and cleaning strategies

Important information concerning PhD courses: There is a no-show fee of DKK 3,000 for each course where the student does not show up. Cancellations are accepted no later than 2 weeks before the start of the course. Registered illness is of course an acceptable reason for not showing up on those days. Furthermore, all courses open for registration approximately four months before start of the course.

We cannot ensure any seats before the deadline for enrolment, all participants will be informed after the deadline, approximately 3 weeks before the start of the course.
