    Welcome to the PhD course on "Artificial Intelligence: Foundations and Applications".

    The course is not limited to computer engineers but is suited for doctoral students from different fields, who can implement the learned methodologies into their research.

    Description:  

    This course will provide understanding on artificial intelligence and its applications on a variety of topics and research fields. First, we introduce the foundations of artificial intelligence in various disciplines. Then we will cover the concepts of Search, Logic, Probabilistic reasoning, Learning and Deep learning including examples of application on many research topics.

    Prerequisites:

    • Basic linear algebra,
    • Mathworks MATLAB.

    Learning objectives:

    • Solving problems using searching,
    • Knowledge and logic representation,
    • Probabilistic reasoning from uncertain knowledge,
    • Learning from statistics and observations,
    • Deep Learning.

    ECTS: 

    3 or 5 ECTS points depending on whether the participant will prepare and defend a scientific paper where he/she applies some of the covered topics on a problem of his/her interest.

Important information concerning PhD courses
We have over some time experienced problems with no-show for both project and general courses. It has now reached a point where we are forced to take action. Therefore, the Doctoral School has decided to introduce a no-show fee of DKK 5,000 for each course where the student does not show up. Cancellations are accepted no later than 2 weeks before start of the course. Registered illness is of course an acceptable reason for not showing up on those days.
