Description:
Evidence-based medicine (EBM) is central in decision making in healthcare, including selection of the most appropriate diagnostic tests, evaluation of prognostic factors, and selection of relevant therapeutic regimens. Despite an increasing knowledge of EBM, implementation of EBM in guidelines, health care policies and daily clinical life is a challenge. This course addresses evidence-based medicine from general concepts, asking answerable questions, searching for evidence-based documentation, appraisal of evidence in therapeutic trials and beyond, introduction to systematic reviews and meta-analysis, and implementation of EBM in daily life, procedures, and guidelines. The course will provide the participants with a thorough understanding of EBM.
