Description:
The aim of the course is to improve the participants’ competences in writing and reviewing research papers and getting papers accepted into journals. The course takes a practical approach and focuses on the techniques needed as a researcher. The course takes its primary point of departure in multidisciplinary research. However, the course is also relevant for students in stricter disciplinary areas of research. The course is organized into two activities. First, the PhD students are asked to study selected literature on the subject. The discussions will address general issues related to scientific writing, and general techniques and guidelines in getting papers published. This activity is based on presentations from the organizers and discussions among the students. Ending the first activity, the students are asked to write an extended abstract for a specific journal using the guidelines from the course. The second activity is devoted to presenting and reviewing the produced abstracts and discussing their likelihood for acceptance for the journals in question.

Important information concerning PhD courses
We have over some time experienced problems with no-show for both project and general courses. It has now reached a point where we are forced to take action. Therefore, the Doctoral School has decided to introduce a no-show fee of DKK 5,000 for each course where the student does not show up. Cancellations are accepted no later than 2 weeks before start of the course. Registered illness is of course an acceptable reason for not showing up on those days. Furthermore, all courses open for registration approximately three months before start. This can hopefully also provide new students a chance to register for courses during the year. We look forward to your registrations.
