Description:
With a background the so-called ‘mobilities turn’ the phd course focuses on the
materiality of mobilities, concentrating in particular on affordances,
materials, skills, and techniques. This interdisciplinary and operational
course is grounded in the current state-of-the art of fields such as
more-than-representational theories, STS, ANT, post-phenomenology, material
pragmatism, new materialism, and posthuman theories. By focusing specifically
on how action possibilities (affordances) are created in design, how
technologies are negotiated in practice, and how architecture of mobilities are
experienced and engaged, the course examines the material configurations of
mobile practices in complex and multidimensional fields both theoretical and
operational. Teaching material is rooted in concrete empirical field studies
drawing on the course organizers' own research. The course contains lectures,
student presentations, and exercises.

Important
information concerning PhD courses:
We have over some time experienced problems with no-show for both project and
general courses. It has now reached a point where we are forced to take action.
Therefore, the Doctoral School has decided to introduce a no-show fee of DKK
3.000 for each course where the student does not show up. Cancellations are
accepted no later than 2 weeks before start of the course. Registered illness
is of course an acceptable reason for not showing up on those days.
Furthermore, all courses open for registration approximately four months before
start. This can hopefully also provide new students a chance to register for
courses during the year. We look forward to your registrations.
