Description:
Transition towards a green economy is one of the key-strategies in the 21st
century that requires reducing carbon footprints, improving resource efficiency
and reducing waste. Membrane technology has an important role in achieving the
goal of circular economy in industrial processes.
The aim of this PhD course is to give a broad overview of various aspects of membrane technology including membrane synthesis, membrane characterization, large-scale applications and control and monitoring of the membrane processes. The course will also cover fouling and cleaning strategies for membrane processes.
The course will consist of lectures, group exercises, presentation and discussion of the participants own projects as well as networking.
Learning outcomes:
- Basic understanding and overview of various membrane processes
- Synthesis and characterization of ceramic and polymeric membrane
- Transport and modeling of membrane processes
- Control and monitoring of membrane processes
- Fouling and cleaning strategies

Important
information concerning PhD courses:
We have over some time experienced problems with no-show for both project and
general courses. It has now reached a point where we are forced to take action.
Therefore, the Doctoral School has decided to introduce a no-show fee of DKK
3.000 for each course where the student does not show up. Cancellations are
accepted no later than 2 weeks before start of the course. Registered illness
is of course an acceptable reason for not showing up on those days.
Furthermore, all courses open for registration approximately four months before
start. This can hopefully also provide new students a chance to register for
courses during the year. We look forward to your registrations.
