- Description: Over the last decades, the co-production and patient-public involvement attracted huge political and academic attention in e.g. public administrations and organisations, and community and general health settings.
In this annual workshop, we invite different international experts and Danish researchers to share their knowledge and research experience from this field and go into depth with the underlying concepts and methods.
This workshop will explore the evidence suggesting that coproduction and/or patient-public involvement has potential to enhance the quality and appropriateness of interventions, programs and research and critically discus when, where and why these concepts have their benefits and limitations. Furthermore, different theoretical framework and approaches will be discussed and specific methods suggested to get started.
It will provide the participants with a working knowledge of the theory and practice of coproduction and patient-public involvement and allow researcher to exchange opinions, ideas and experiences and receive feedback from both the course lectures (international experts included) and other participants.
Participants This workshop will bring researchers from different research fields with a shared interest for coproduction and patient-public involvement to discuss the potentials, challenges and experiences related to designing and conducting research inspired by or based on this approach.
Evaluation A week before the course the participants are asked to submit a 2-page presentation of their project including a short description of how the concepts of coproduction and/or patient-public involvement is or could be used in the research
All participants are expected to give an oral presentation of and discuss their work in a master-class like setting with feedback from presenters and participants and to participate actively in all course activities.

Important information concerning PhD courses: We have over some time experienced problems with no-show for both project and general courses. It has now reached a point where we are forced to take action. Therefore, the Doctoral School has decided to introduce a no-show fee of DKK 3.000 for each course where the student does not show up. Cancellations are accepted no later than 2 weeks before start of the course. Registered illness is of course an acceptable reason for not showing up on those days. Furthermore, all courses open for registration approximately four months before start. This can hopefully also provide new students a chance to register for courses during the year.
