Description:
The course engages participants in current studies on the cultural history of science. This type of studies examine the historical, economic, political and epistemological conditions on which the practices of science are carried out and come to constitute not only the particular concepts and procedures of science, but above all, the scientific rationality.
This course is addressed to students whose projects examine the practices of the natural sciences and technology from the point of view of social sciences, in an attempt to connect the production of scientific knowledge with other forms of social activity. The course is also of interest to social sciences and humanities who are interested in exploring the points of connection between these types of sciences and the natural sciences in terms of the forms of thinking and rationalities that cross the contemporary divide between these areas of study.

Important information concerning PhD courses
We have over some time experienced problems with no-show for both project and general courses. It has now reached a point where we are forced to take action. Therefore, the Doctoral School has decided to introduce a no-show fee of DKK 5,000 for each course where the student does not show up. Cancellations are accepted no later than 2 weeks before start of the course. Registered illness is of course an acceptable reason for not showing up on those days. Furthermore, all courses open for registration approximately three months before start. This can hopefully also provide new students a chance to register for courses during the year. We look forward to your registrations.
