Welcome to Fourth Annual Symposium on sport, Physical Activity and Human Performance
Description:
This course will be organized for the fourth year. Physical activities carried out in sports and at work are important parts of our everyday life influencing our quality of life. In parallel, the implementation of prevention and rehabilitation programs based on training paradigms call for the quantification of human performance. The aim of this PhD course will be to provide the audience with relevant and recent scientific results based on qualitative and quantitative research. Internationally recognized speakers and a series of speakers from Aalborg University will be invited. The addressed topics will include for sociology of sports, talent development, motor control, biomechanics, ergonomics, sports science, and neuromechanics.
The participants will gain knowledge in new methods used to assess human performance in laboratory and field environments. A special emphasis will be given on the speakers-student interaction by organizing group work. The detailed agenda of the course will be provided on the course web site.

Relevant papers and book chapters will be announced shortly before the course.
Prerequisites
The students participating to this course should have basic knowledge on anatomy, physiology and methods to assess human performance by means of qualitative and quantitative methods.

Important information concerning PhD courses We have over some time experienced problems with no-show for both project and general courses. It has now reached a point where we are forced to take action. Therefore, the Doctoral School has decided to introduce a no-show fee of DKK 5,000 for each course where the student does not show up. Cancellations are accepted no later than 2 weeks before start of the course. Registered illness is of course an acceptable reason for not showing up on those days. Furthermore, all courses open for registration approximately three months before start. This can hopefully also provide new students a chance to register for courses during the year. We look forward to your registrations.
